PDF Quick Reader v50 - 8827 KB
PDF Quick Reader is a good alternative for Adobe Reader, it has also
some more functions. You can export pages from PDF file as the images
(BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, Metafile) with different resolution. There is a
possibility to fill forms and to save filled file.
- PDF Quick Reader functionality: open, read, display any PDF file
- print PDF documents
- export PDF as plain text
- export PDF by the page as images (doesn't available in Adobe
Reader!)
- great number of navigation and display modes, zoom
- rotate pages
- send PDF file via email
- extract text and images
- clipboard
- search function with appropriate options
- fill, save and send PDF forms (doesn't available in Adobe Reader!)
- digital signatures
- Live update

The free PDF DocuReader seems rather interesting to me:

Warning: it installs a toolbar by default, so uncheck that option if
you don't want that.
The program looks quite nice *on first impression*.
Unlike PDF X-Change Viewer, it has no tabbed document interface.
Exporting to image files works well, just as it does in PDF X-Change
Viewer.
For one peculiar reason or another the settings are stored in the "my
documents" folder (as an .xml file), or whatever your default "my
documents" folder is called. That means it's not portable. PDF
X-Change Viewer has a portable version, which stores the settings in
the program's folder.
Problems thus far:
1. It does not load all pdf files, and I had to stop the process via
ctrl-alt-del on a number of occasions.
2. It did not display part of another file properly, and actually made
a mess of the characters.
Not a desirable feature imho.
My verdict: not as good as PDF X-Change Viewer (yet?) on account of
the annoying problems I experienced during a quick test and the
absence of a tabbed interface.
